Bettws y Crwyn is a parish in a deeply rural area in South Shropshire, with a population under 200. Despite the scattered nature of the dwellings in the area, it is a vibrant community with good, if informal, communications, and an excellent record of co-operation. It is a caring community which is supportive of local events.
The pages on this site will reflect the interests of the community, and act as a central information site.
It is a website that will grow as people feed information to the editor. If you have a business that you would like include in the ‘Services and Businesses’ pages or information you would like to share, please leave a response.
Important Announcement
I have created a new page. In future all announcements about coming events will appear on the tab – Newsflashes and Coming Events- on the sidebar under the Home tab.
If organisers of events inform Valerie Whately as soon as an event has been arranged I will do my best to place it there as soon as possible.
In addition have moved records of older announcements and events that have taken place pre 2012 onto the Archive page.

Yes – I’m reading it at last Val! Thanks for your email, did you send a copy to Fenella? I am wondering if we will have time to get this together, bit doubtful. I haven’t looked at the sketch yet. I will ring Fenella.
Top hats – apparently Pam and Bev supplied the two used at the last Bettws do. Don’t know how they got hold of them.

Just had another thought that might help you see what level of readership you have. There’s a plugin for WordPress that enables you to use Google Analytics to track usage.
See http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/
I use Google Analytics for my personal site and find it really easy to use. Have no experience of the WordPress plugin, however.
